Since 1978, the Uplands Golf Club Heart Tournament has been bringing people together for a day of fun, community building, and supporting cardiac care on Vancouver Island.
Every year, over 200,000 of our community members receive cardiac assessments at Royal Jubilee and Victoria General hospitals, where approximately 700 cardiac surgeries are performed each year. While many can attest to the uncertainty and hardship that accompany the news of a cardiac condition, Vancouver Island patients can take comfort in the fact they have access to a world-class cardiac program – thanks to supporters like you!
Year after year, donors, sponsors, and players have united to help fund leading-edge equipment through the Victoria Hospitals Foundation for the Heart Health Centre for Excellence at Royal Jubilee Hospital—host to one of the finest cardiac programs in the country. Leaders like you have raised over $3.2 million for your fellow Vancouver Islanders.

VICTORIA HOSPITAL FOUNDATION
Since 1978, the Uplands Golf Club Heart Tournament (both men's and women's) has raised money for Victoria Hospitals Foundation to bring leading-edge cardiac equipment to Island Health and its Heart Health program at the Royal Jubilee Hospital.
Together, we have made this outstanding golf experience the longest running, most successful charity tournament in BC.

UVIC VIKES GOLF TEAMS
The UVIC Golf Classic Tournament and dinner held in the first week of August each year at Uplands Golf Club helps to raise funds to sponsor the VIKES golf teams.
Uplands Golf Club is the proud host to numerous Vikes Golf Teams Performance Tour events, Zone 5, City and Provincial Events.

THRIFTY FOODS YOUTH GOLF CLINICS
Uplands Golf Club hosts the Thrifty Foods Youth Golf Clinic each year. Encouraging local youth interested in golf, this tournament provides children with the opportunity to learn from the UVic Vikes Golf team. Participants have the opportunity to take part in the Open with a Pro and explore the possibilities of a future in golf.
Encourages leadership, physical activity, and the opportunity to take part in the Open and see the possibilities of a future in golf (passes included in registration fee).

LOCAL BUSINESSES, CHARITIES, AND EVENTS
During the year Uplands issues a limited number of gift certificates to benefit local fundraising efforts, along with donating to local schools, hospitals, service groups, other golf clubs and local sports clubs.

VICTORIA HOSPICE SOCIETY
The Hugh Carberry Pro-Am Tournament was started in 1974, by Don Billsborough, Brian Carbery and a group of close friends of Hugh who donated the trophy.
- The Pro-Am is one of the longest running charities contributing donations to Hospice since its inception.
- Began in October 2012 with 28 players – has grown to 45-50 players.
- Includes a silent auction and a dinner only option for non-golfers.
MUSTARD SEED FOOD BANK
Uplands Women’s Division raises money for the Mustard Seed Food Bank each December.
